Sexual orientation

The Fair Housing Act does not specifically refer to discrimination based on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status; however, HUD by administrative regulation has prohibited discrimination on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status in HUD assisted or insured housing.
